aggressively marketed as our amazing flagship. Short hop DTW-AMS.
Pushed about 2 hours late for late-arriving aircraft (due to maintenance). Sat by the runway for 20 minutes awaiting our numbers. Subsequently told we were too light for takeoff on such a short leg and returned to the gate to get more gas.
IFE would play movies... just not the one you clicked on. Push any tile and then sit back to try and guess what you were actually watching. Huge screen, but resolution was poor... actually preferred watching something on my own device which luckily worked fine.
If there was a fresh air gaspar for the middle section of D1, I couldn't find it. The odds that my wife and I both liked the ambient air temperature and neither of us needed one? Zero.
Open air style with no storage above your seat was not to my liking. Had to squeeze my stuff next to the window seat passenger's above her seat. Makes it awkward for her when I access my stuff midflight and seem to be peaking into her closed-off-but-not-on-top area, and I feel obligation to try and be super quiet if she's sleeping.
Service left much to be desired for my adjacent paying passengers (FAs made it clear they knew we were NRSA so I had no expectations for our own service and asked for nothing). Felt like they were irritated to ever be interrupted while they were trying to work. It's unknowable how much the aircraft gallery design contributed to their attitude - probably would have been the same on any aircraft.
Overall, if I were paying or filing a voucher for the $8k street price, I would have been really disappointed - particularly after Delta indicated that this was as good as it gets. Next long leg for business might just be on someone else if my Delta status didn't force my hand.

Yes the FAs hate it compared to the 330. I don't think I would care for that bunk on 4-pilot ops either...the 330Neo bunk on the other hand looks great! From a pax perspective, I'd echo much of what Ted said wrt the 350.

I can’t comment to the A350 specifically as I’ve not been on one but my Delta One experience was outstanding.

Just returned from Europe. Delta One both legs over and back. My experience was 180° from yours. I have zero complaints and was treated extremely well by the FA’s. A330 on the way over, B777 on the way back.

IDK, the OPs rumor seems to be picking up steam. I discounted it the first few times I heard it, but the veracity seems to be stepping up based on who I'm now hearing it from. I wouldn't be surprised if we've taken delivery of our last 350.

I remember years ago FAs talking about how much they loved the 320 galley, then the company fixed that.
