I seem to remember seeing a cost comparison where ground power and air were around 1/3 to 1/4 the cost of running an APU.

Why are unloading bags a priority over hooking ext and air to the plane when it’s 90+ degrees.
Ramp priority in hot weather
1. Chock AC
2. Signal Chocks in
3. Baby Strollers
4. Hook up ext and air
5. Bags
Parked MD88 today B7 1500, at 1510 inquired about pwr/air to special assist. 1523 last pax off, still no pwr/air. 1524 pilots depart plane. Still no pwr/air. Next departure 1645.
I know...I know write up a FCR.
Sorry, not sorry no FCR for Delta.

I work at a regional currently but have to deadhead through DTW a lot, let me just say while I am friendly with like 2 or 3 DL GA's at DTW, the rest are dragons and a pain to deal with. If I was a paying customer for the first time dealing with them I would choose another airline.

Because we currently guarantee customers that they will get their bags in 20 minutes or less.

That's what I was getting at on the first page, when multiple aircraft arrive at the outstation at the same time, you have to wait in order till each entire aircraft is unloaded, before you get parked.
A few months back, had a 717 arrive after us without a working APU. We had 2 Airbii in front of us, and after waiting 35+ minutes, the ground crew finally parked us, and the 717. Except the 717 got parked at the gate with no air or ground power. That captain was pretty lit on ops freq.

I say we demand 2x pay for economy middle seat and 1.5x for non Comfort+.

Only a monetary incentive will fix the problem.
