I thought it was pretty witty. You know...as in the bid will be out Sept 31st. Which means.....well......never.

(Hopefully that 1st grader didn't inheret your ability to detect humor). 😁

Unless, of course, September has been awarded an eggstra day. :o

Or the Rainmakers version: "Thirty days has September,
April, June and County Jails.
Thirty days, maybe, I can remember
Just where I went wrong.
Just where I failed."

No kidding. This has turned into a giant waste of time. Might as well go back to that Star Trek guy onFB.

I use my knuckles to determine which months have 31 days.

Technique only.

Now there's some useful information.

He could tell you, but then he’d have to change it again.

Well what do you expect when there is nothing going on, nothing substantial to report and no juicy rumors flowing. The pace really picks up as we approach a TA and forget about it during the voting period. Spin city on both sides.

In the mean time enjoy the egg puns :D

Spoke to a friend that starts indoc in October, and they’ve been told their drop would include:
ATL88
NYC717
NYC220
NYC737 and . . .
NYC320.

Correct me if I’ve missed something, but I don’t believe they can offer 320 positions if they haven’t been unbid by existing pilots, and we haven’t had unbid NYC320B openings in a VERY long time. Anyone have further insights?

They havent offered it yet. Its not been bidded on. Remember the contract works like a mechanism, decisions by either side from contract language. Its september, they can offer 777 positions as long as they dont let them bid them first day of class (on property). October class will also bid on 747s i heard, theyre coming back.

Obviously some sort of AE is coming out and thatll make space for it.

BS put out a video on the Skynet Crew Resources Page a few weeks ago stating there would be an AE in September to ensure spots for upcoming new hires.

He also stated to expect a much larger AE in the Nov/Dec timeframe to set up for the summer 2020 flying....allegedly will contain WB A positions.

If you crack open your Delta calendar you will find the 31st of September comes right after the 30th of August.

(Cue the angry mobs for the summer productivity concessions...)

I tried deciphering the contract, but since they stopped 60 in each seat on the 88 from going to a new plane; do their positions in those planes count as un bid positions?

I'm going to go with no, since technically those positions were bid for, but just not awarded.

Hossharris 09-07-2019 02:26 PM

I thought newhires could only get UNFILLED positions ...

That’s my understanding; they’ll have to run, close, and award the AE...THEN offer the unfilled positions. I would guess that they’re anticipating those positions, and if that class isn’t until October then it’s all kosher.

saturn 09-08-2019 08:52 AM

AE coming out tomorrow according to Bob.

How long does the AE stay open ? I start on the 16th and trying to bid out of NYC would I be eligible to bid to a different base ?

My guess is it will close on the 16th. If it did and assuming IT has your accounts all up and running on day 1, you could be ready to submit a bid out of NYC. If it were to close later (e.g., next Friday), you'd be good to go!

Couldn't find the comment or page you're talking about. Are you referring to "TecOps -News" or "Ops Hot Spot" on the workplace app?

If a bid is posted on the 9th it would not close before the 19th.

It’s in a random response from Bob about split rotations. He casually mentions the AE that will be released tomorrow.

HTBH 09-08-2019 03:17 PM

Interesting he mentions 43 320 F/O's added to NYC. Hopefully that happens.

Didn't they actually release one on a Sunday night a few years ago? Or maybe it was just over the weekend.
