I don’t think it’s THAT crazy. I can’t hold any widebody A except 7ER in NYC but I personally don’t have any desire to do the flying the 777 and 350 do. Call me crazy. I did do INTL on the ER right seat years ago and enjoyed it, but ICN, JNB, PVG, HND, and PEK....you guys can have it. One day I’ll bid the 330 A and fly to Europe again, but only when I can control my schedule a little. 70% in catagory, or so.

I am very anxious to see how many junior A's are going to bail for Widebody B. I am one of them. I have been working my ass off the last 2+ years. Looking to hide out in the right side of a 330 or 350 for awhile until we get a new contract. Being junior in the left seat on a narrow body right now is brutal. Left seat is going to go crazy junior in NY and LA. I don't think a 2014 is going to hold 737A in ATL though. ATL is going to continue to go more and more senior.

I am thinking the same thing. The 2-3 year NYC A’s might bail to do a couple years of widebody B flying before coming back to NB A in order to restore some sanity in their lives. What equipment are you bidding off right now that has driven you to the brink of insanity?
I know that NYC 73N reserve has been absolutely brutal...

ATL 717A (and DTW and NYC to a somewhat lesser extent) routinely uses every RES for every day they have available. Most of the flying sucks, and those a-holes from NYC have a direct line to my schedule. They OOBWS every time I've got a day off for a potential green and mum's the effing word when I'm on SC
.
.Our flying in DTW went to crap once the west coast flying stopped. Which is fine, if you're into the Dakota's in January.

zero reserves. 5 GS given out so far and said pilot OOBWS DH both ways trip preventing a commuter from doing a GS.
But yes its allowed like costco return policy.

I can see how this would be frustrating because it seems like you deserve that green slip. However, can you really fault the guy if it improves his quality of life? Does your QOL or premium income trump his? Once again i can understand your personal frustration but not the outward animosity. Just like a person could get frustrated when they get used on reserve they don’t blame the guy that called in sick or whatever else caused the trip to be uncovered.

Griping about it, and especially using his/her initials on a public forum (presumably in an attempt to shame him/her into changing their behavior) is poor form.
