At first I thought it was to absorb the crappy 88 flying. But now who knows? There is a impending staffing summer fun fest.

Wondered this too. Haven't seen much discussed in regards to negotiations though when it comes to giving the RCC more power than they already have. Which is basically zero.

There is a reason it’s called the Sodomizer. They had it set to wrist-deep with lube last summer. This year it’s going to be elbow-deep and dry.

Because there is no contractual language requiring ALPA input on trip construction. The company has chosen to prioritize credit/cost over commutability.

I think it also has to do with the large number of RON airplanes there and early departures/late arrivals.

It sounds like,if the company would allow for more commutable trips (ie more credit), costs might actually be reduced.....given last summer’s melt down and the projected staffing for this summer.

NYC has a large number of early morning departures. In an effort to reduce hotel costs, they began building early departures for NYC based crews rather than having NYC layovers for other bases.

to foot that bill than a company burning billions in stock buybacks every year.
