Can someone put $28 million in perspective for a new guy? I don’t think my last carrier’s pilot agreement was worth even half of that so it’s hard to decide how I should feel about it.
One person mentioned $1,900/pilot. That’s sad. But I’m looking more for history etc.

This is how it works. The sooner this goes to mediation the better. Next the mediator will issue a gag order so the company position and our eventual move will not be public. This is what they really want, and time to create the crisis narrative. I have faith in leaks though, we have never been completely shut out. Both sides leak as it benefits their position. Get comfortable it’s going to be awhile. And it was always going to be awhile. No good contract has ever come in a timely manner. That’s why negotiating away our me too was a huge mistake, but I digress.

Why does everyone say our offer is so bad? Because we dont like 1 part of it? We are making Billions, returning billions to the shareholders via buybacks and dividends. Why would we not ask to fix our contract?
I think too many people have forgotten how negotiating a non-concessionary contract goes. Our "give" was we will continue to keep working for the company and not strike.

You guys go keep this operation going. We have 4% more flying scheduled this summer with the same amount of pilots. They’re going to rely on your can do attitude and *****ish greenslipping selves time make it happen.

$6000 in profit last year. The company offered up improvements totaling $28. I’m reasonably clear on how I feel about that.

I don’t care what we anyone thinks we’re entitled to. I care what we can negotiate.
But apparently management has ****ed away all of 2019 with a BS opener they don’t even want us to know about and got to the grand sum total of $28 mill in improvements before walking away from the table.

I read somewhere in the FOM that the most powerful symbol of the Delta brand is a pilot in uniform.

How does Delta Flight Ops management expect us to complete the 4% YOY capacity increase next summer with barely the same amount of Pilots we had then? I gave all I’m willing to give last summer, and I only worked one 3 day GS, on reserve. I don’t know what they’re thinking. Maybe they’re looking at advanced bookings and know something we don’t, but if they did, they probably would be talking about an accelerated parking of the MD88 fleet. I’m really confused.

Dont be a one issue voter ora one issue poster. It's a comprehensive contract not a job posting
This leadership isnt being replaced. Settle down. Hunker down. Get your financial house in order. Stop shrieking.
Youll get used to the pain soon enough
Be tough. You're not ready.
