I heard exact same rumor. Wonder why they're planning on sending notices out with 90 days notice? Does that mean it's going to go deeper than Dec 2016? Maybe they're just extending same courtesy as the guys hired pre-contract? Surely we can get 500 early-outs. Also heard early outs only for 62 and older crowd.

If it’s to be 3000 pilots, who have a union and some contractual protections (for now), it’s going to be a bloodbath for all the other groups.

Sigh. This f’ing virus sucks.

why would they not offer early outs to pilots younger than 62 in order to avoid any furloughs at all? What am I missing? The more the merrier I say

It might be a monthly pay guarantee.

This aside: If they’re going to offer it it would have to coincide or at least precede the surplus bid. Why spend $50+K to train a 777A on the 330 when he’s on his way out the door?

Makes sense. I bet 500 take the early out. RG is 2561 from bottom. He keeps his job by 61 numbers +/ however many mandatories between now and Sept 30. Looks like the right amount of padding.

Yea , you’re spot on . Plus the fact that that the AVRO RJ85 was a completely different animal than the original BAE 146 . Higher Thrust/weight Ratio and glass/Auto Throttle with no Bleed/pressurization problems that plagued the original . So that stupid joke didn’t even apply to the AVRO . But it’s kind of like back in the days of flying the Metro and the Fokker when passengers were like “ oh ,I’m flying on a puddle jumper” . If I had a penny for every time I heard that 😂. I mean , really , who comes up with this stuff.

Yeah, great source. Almost as reliable as the sim instructors. You know, 'cause we are getting 787z any day now....

Don't buy it. So in the last 2 weeks they've come up with summer 2021 plan, have the displacement bid all doped out - really?

I'll wait and see come 1 Oct. Back to your regularly scheduled programming.

I'm only counting about 2000 pilots that are age 62+ as of today.
