Honest question: why bother bending over backwards to keep your currency? As long as you filled out the sim availability form on iCrew, you are pay protected.

Just enjoy the paid time off.

Agreed, 100%.

Assuming the airline survives (I give us one chance in three), this is best looked at as a glorious summer. An entire summer off, with paychecks?

Already lost 20 lbs, and after some initial friction, wife and I are getting along great, and that 3 week backpacking trip I've wanted since college graduation is about to become a reality. The $$$ cost is a bit high ($150k++ in lost income with the downgrade, no bonuses, and wage stagnation), but I agree...make the most of it, if your finances allow.

Why worry about what you can't possibly control?

Rational thinking has no place at APC.

This may sound silly.....but it's because I'm a professional pilot and I want to be somewhat current and qualified on my jet. And I'd rather fly a trip than go to Va. Ave. and do a sim.

Presumably, that wasn't $150k take-home. So you're got that going for you, which is nice.

Bump. I got another question. Can I YS a trip on XDays and is it assigned using the same rules?(Days of avail being most important and its assigned day before) If I get it, do I get the Xdays back, even if they go into the next month? Thanks

Yes you can YS on X days. Look at 23.N and 23.O for the callout ladders to see where a reserve YS’ing on X-days would fall. No, if you volunteer to work on an X-day you don’t get it back.

Yes you can YS on X day (23.N and 23.O)...assigned within Reserve Utilization Order (2.A.248)

You don’t get those days back...PB days are for GS and IA’s (23.S.9)

You’re ATL based right (I assume since you can’t OOBYS)? It falls under normal commute guidelines.
