Emotions are running higher than normal on the typically emotional APC. I wish there was a <<hug>> button. Folks just need a bit of reassurance, it seems. I don’t even mean that to be mean; folks seriously need a beer and a campfire.

I wrote “hug button” but my attempt at making it look like a tag got it deleted. Sorry. Like needy autocorrect.

I love the Miata thread. I don't even like cars. Just something that isn't 24/7 "lets all attack each other with witty bon monts about politics, company gives/takes, COVID opinion-of-the-day stuff, shall we"?
For gods sake, keep the Miata thread pure. Can't we all just get along (on the Miata thread)?

neither is better. Both are easy to flush and/or cheap to get flushed

As a UNAcorn, I don't mind if they ask for boat advice.....maybe he got a large inheritence....maybe he has been smart with money and lived below his means the last few decades, and now he's ready to enjoy it a little
Just becuase out lives might be turned upside down in a few months doesn't mean I expect everyone still on the active pilot list to stop living.....life is too short.

Flex much? Living in first house, still have my wife’s first ever car (airport car 92 Mazda mx3 with 238,000 miles). Sadly though she may win and make me get rid of it, it had less paint than paint until she and a friend took a spray can to it. My 08 xterra has 167,000 miles, but I guess I can’t ask a question about buying a used boat as it may be perceived as flexing. My bad, I’ll shelf that idea. Jeez, it’s not like I said a Miata wasn’t a sports car!

What’s the value of a Miata pulling a Yamaha jet boat?
I will say one thing about boating, it’s good for the soul. I love it... but I’m starting to get curious about sailing here on lake Lanier. Place is really windy.

Rented a 24’ Yamaha twin through “Boat Setter” website last summer. Have teens and want to keep them and their friends close. I can wear them out wakeboarding and tubing all day. Decided to buy last October, end of the season and all. Decided on a Bayliner VR5. It’s perfect for the family, lots of room and some cool features. Deck drains, integrated cooler that also drains overboard. Walk through from the stern deck. Huge amounts of storage. Wake tower. MSPR for 39K paid 29.5K new. Best family time investment ever for those with teens. Newer boats just are so much more functional and comfortable than boats from even 15 years ago.
I liked the twin Yamaha we rented, 24 feet would be hard to fit in the garage and like was said before, it’s difficult maneuvering around the dock.
The family loves the VR5 and they think we are super fancy cruising the Puget Sound. I wanted a boat to take in the saltwater and didn’t want to spend a fortune. People might look down on Bayliners but we love ours.

edit: everything on the Yamaha is made by Yamaha, boat and motors etc. The Yamaha warranty is supposedly excellent, 5 years included on purchase. I normally don’t buy warranties but I got a 7 year one on the Bayliner. Figured I’d have the boat 5 years and selling it with 2 years left on the warranty would be reassuring to the buyers.
