My wife has quite literally asked me, “What the ****** is going on?”, to which I can only respond 🤷🏼‍♂️

The way delta has run this company lately in regards to staffing, is frankly embarrassing. I didn’t think my goodwill could be further eroded.

Bids>advance entitlement>display pilot vacancy awards or temporary information

They could have saved everyone a lot of heartburn by including a few sentences on the front page of the AE, or a sentence in the comments along with the posting. Now they’re going to be spending the week ahead of the townhall doing damage control, when they could have alleviated it all by being clear up front.

What would that sentence look like though?

”Hey, I know we told you that the 1941 were excluded...but they weren’t. So...here you go. And it doesn’t really mean anything but it benefits us somehow and we’re super sorry.”

Or maybe "Dear Delta pilots, we really don't care about you at all. Enjoy this ********y AE!! Suckers!"

what’s going on is that a corporation is reminding its people they’re nothing more than a number. They’re running a business and Happy ‘Delta Family’ talk is just that: talk.

Nothing they said would have been great, but they could have avoided the 30 minutes of wondering, where all 1941 temporarily hoped we might be saved, only to have dreams dashed once again. There were still going to be seniority questions/issues with this AE, but they could have prevented providing false hope to those on the chopping block. That was easily preventable.

I could care less what words are printed on some pamphlet in an HR office somewhere. The real Delta Family is how we treat each other on our multi day vacations a few times a month. And with very few exceptions I am content in that regard.
