LOA 20-04 MEC approves counter

Yes it does still need approval. The thought is that it's a very easy approval with a joint application. Reason being it's money already accounted for with DPSP cash, and not new money. There's always the chance it doesn't get approved but the lawyers say this one should be approved. I wouldn't necessarily say it applies to significantly fewer pilots now either.

I didn’t hear if the vote to delay this until Jan 2021 passed or not.......

They aren't giving more retirement money. They are giving a tax free vehicle to put your 16 percent DC contribution into after you've hit the $57,000 max. As of now, once you hit the max, you get the money as straight cash in your pay check. It's heavily taxed.
As a narrowbody fo, I'm at limit this year already. Last year, I had 2 paychecks at limit. Going forward, probably won't hit limit anymore as it keeps raising and profit sharing loss will be hard to overcome.

Are they indeed? Not me. Nobody I work with seems to have that mindset. I’ve worked with probably 70 different WB pilots since the pandemic onset. The majority seem to be playing PCS to attain some degree of normalcy. Sure, there’s a good number satisfied to not fly and take some time off. But that comes at a cost. I think your statement might be as accurate as the current political polling we see every day.

As a UNA I agree. This might even be better than the no furlough deal itself. Thank you for your support of our group.
to me this seems like a solid win for our group even if furloughs were not in question
im curious if the company wanted the MCBP instead of something cheaper like better deadhead rules. I know deadheading us in anything but coach has been something they want to avoid but it seems like an cheaper alternative to more retirement $$

I wouldn't say it's a home run....In my opinion it's a stand up double. I'd argue though it's the best deal of any of the airlines so far. The TLV was a big win for sure. It's pretty rare for us to get something that requires more pilots.

agree with you here. there were a few things I would have liked to have seen in this proposal but overall I think this is a great deal and not nearly as divisive as the UAL deal was.
