That subset is expected to grow to 40 plus airframes. Stocking parts for 10 airframes worldwide would be very expensive. We are also not purchasing the airframes new. Typically when a engine manufacturer wants you to make a switch from a existing power plant they throw in lots of sweeteners reducing costs to maintain a additional type including parts pools and worldwide support.
Also not sure how much overlap there is in parts, but the 330-900 and the 350 both have RR engines.

That meeting was in March, I'm sure it has changed a few times since then. But it could have been the plan. Then 737/787 deal fell apart and now they are back to it. So yeah maybe, but then again I've been hearing Arbi rumblings. Basically I'm saying they have several fleet plans and purchase plans and any one can have priority currently based on economics and financing.

I think the reality is, Delta would rather wait for something to fall in their lap last minute. They couldnt get Boeing wrapped up quickly during the pandemic (which some is more engine purchase problems not Boeing i get it) so IDK if is ever going to work out. If Airbus wants to give us cheap planes with engines on them already that's just what we will do.
This is it for a decade on clean sheet designs, theres no 797 walking through that door for 20 years, so get used to the fleet type and pray someone sells 787s on the cheap.

Delta keeps trying to get Boeing for Airbus prices, which Boeing is sort of ok with but the engine manufacturing groups just don't wanna deal with Deltas combative price negotiations.
