Assuming they backfill at least 400 positions...11,720 on the Jan seniority list to NYC220
i bet 73N/320 does not go jr to 11,500
My guess is affected pilots go only to NYC 220/320/73N/7ER ,maybe ATL/DTW 717. I think it’s hard to imagine any affected pilot getting much else.
i think a fair number may bypass if it involves the 220 just to avoid 2 training events in a year (I hear people don’t like it on Virginia ave)

- geographical location to NYC as it relates to commuting
- unwillingness to fly the 220 for a slight pay bump but commute/and decrease in QOL
- already on Mil leave
- on a PLOA for another flying job
- can maintain good lifestyle at home with kids on 30 hours of pay come April 1
- hopes that another larger AE will come in Q2

I think this is a good projection...I'm just outside the 400, and am thinking I'll be back. Most of the guys I've talked to that are senior to me are bypassing, due to either:
- geographical location to NYC as it relates to commuting
- unwillingness to fly the 220 for a slight pay bump but commute/and decrease in QOL
- already on Mil leave

Another thing to consider is the new stimulus. It might be worth risking the 30 hrs pay and staying UNA in the hopes of there being more airline grant money in this possible stimulus and you being put back on 72hrs a month while sitting at home doing nothing.

example:
Plug on Jan AE gets training assigned July 1, 2021. AE comes out April 1 with 400 more positions. AE award comes out April 30 with pilots senior to plug being awarded a position before plug gets it due to both pilots still being “affected status” per LOA 20-04.

I’ve been quite surprised by those I’ve talked to about that, because a lot of the UNA pilots are newer (less than 3 years at DL) and came from flying RJs, they haven’t changed their lifestyle a ton. Most guys are making almost a double hourly rate they were sitting in the left seat at XYZ regional. That and their wives work. A lot have expressed the cost and availability of not having to deal with childcare during this pandemic is a big factor.
