great point. I didn't even mention the seniority factor

I see big D is in the national news again with another cockpit bum rush. DAL 1730.

This time with an off duty FA.

If we’re going to charge a premium, maybe we should not have one of these in national news every week?

Just a thought. Curious to see the name when it comes out..just to learn if it really was an off duty Dal Fa.

(Nice job to the crew. Maybe FAs need the same shrink vetting pilots receive, no?)

How do you propose we keep people from acting like animals? And how are other airlines handling their animals better?

demand that this White House immediately rescind the mask policy. Guarantee that solves 90% of these issues

It's a Rorschach test. I'd be careful about reading too much into it, up to and including saying people are "acting like animals". (not you, Crown)

I've called a few friends. Their first question is "What's going on at DAL? (in re: in flight diversions due to, uh, "issues")

Two incidents in as many weeks at one airline, and one airline alone. Food for thought.

Construction dust at LAX??? 🤔🙄

So now it is appropriate to blame the "rape" victim because what...."they asked for it"? You guys kill me....tell your neighbor to "eff" off and use a little common sense.

That may be the dumbest thing anyone has ever posted here. Congrats.

Regarding reroutes - how does RR pay work for a domestic trip that returns to base 6 hours later due to a RR?

If I read the PWA correctly (doubtful) it pays the RR day single pay in addition to the actual trip pay? Does this sound correct?

I know DV8 back end stops per diem - does this affect RR pay at all?

Thanks Scoop

If I remember correctly, BS even stated that more frequent AEs would work better, but they continue with the larger/infrequent bids because it saves them a few pennies. It's really our own fault for not having better contract language...at a previous job, you knew before you even bid what month you'd train and what month you'd hit the line. Award on month one, train on month two and hit the line on month three. This part of our AE language and nearly all of our initial training language is really pretty terrible.

if it's due to weather, most likely no soup for you. Look at 23.L.8 if REG and 23.L.9 if RES

No - the weather was the day prior. We were at our scheduled layover and they just rerouted our last day (today) no wx issues today, does wx yesterday affect a reroute today?

Thanks

Thanks

it should not, as long as the last day was a reroute and not late operations. fill out an ACE report.

There are still 9 open rotations for NYC 73NB after the ARCOS call out 2 hours ago! Maybe some GSWC are on the horizon?

On hold with crew scheduling for over 2:15 hours. I know it's Independence Day and all, but sheesh.

What exactly do you need from CS that you can’t get from texting crew assist?

Calling out sick. It's ridiculous that we have to speak to a human and waste their time calling out sick.

Can't disagree there, should just be a check box or a click & confirm somewhere in iCrew. That said, if I'm on hold more than a few minutes, I hang up and call crew assist or use the app, let them relay. If you really want to cover yourself just shoot a quick email to the CPO saying you tried to crew scheduling but had unreasonable wait times...I'm sick for rotation XXXX. They'll figure it out sooner...or maybe later.

At least calling in well should be automated.

I've used the crew assist app to call in well. Apparently they are allowed to do that, just not mark you out sick.

I have called out sick using the Crew Assist app before. Was no problem at all.

This is good to know! I tried it maybe a year ago or so and they said no

Can I get more 3 + hour sits (aka ready airport reserve) in the A T L built in to our rotations please.

I just can't get re-routed enough.

Bert Sampson 07-05-2021 01:57 PM

You can do sick and well via crew assist. Or just call your CPO and leave a message, they’ll figure it out. We don’t get paid to wait on hold for 2+ hours

Man, the PB days have been a real grab bag! Last month it took a call to CS and am email to ALPA to get it right. This month they were on there (and correct!) almost the minute that I accepted the GS! At least some consistency would be nice.

Agree on the 2+ hours to call in sick/well. Completely unsat. Text to crew assist and call/email to CPO seem like a solid plan. Maybe when they get tired of dealing with it, they'll pressure CS to fix the staffing.
