35 Large RJs coming back?
#581
This is them using the RLA/the contract to their advantage. They know there’s no way an arbiter will side with them on this Endeavor flow...but it allows them to use the RJs through the summer to help alleviate the training problem they created in the meantime. By the time the ruling comes down, summer will be over, we won’t need the RJs, and training will catch up at mainline. What’s it going to cost them? Not much.

look bud, it doesnt work like that. You have a formal grievance. A formal grievance goes to an arbitrator. The arbitrator makes a decision. You're never going to get released for a strike off a single violation.

Ed will throw in 2 spirit passes and say thanks for getting us through summer. By then nobody will care about 35 RJs because we will probably be dealing with a new scope violation by then. Or we will get a new contract with the caveat that all grievances are considered closed and the company is in full compliance.

I’m sure you are right.
Take a moment to study “Major Disputes” under the Railway Labor Act. Call one of our attorneys at the DALPA office and report back to us.
“This pandemic will go on for 5 years or more!!! We won’t be profitable or hire for at least 5 years!!!”
“The world is ending!!!”
Oh wait........

I ponder how much this will cost Delta in unidentifiable costs years down the line. When you pull this type of crap to the most essential workforce at the company, it has been proven to backfire financially, as pilot motivation goes out the window due to low moral.
How many more pilots will start treating this as nothing more than a job, show up just prior to report time instead of earlier to avoid the possibility for a delay, less passenger announcements due to loss of pride in your own brand.
Maybe they’ll find a way to make everyone forget this ever happened by Fall, who knows.
