Yes and No....those dropped before (if I remember correctly) were more of an aberration (maybe guys didn't have a bid in because they thought it unobtainable). This time 36 guys getting the pay.

I don't follow it that closely, because it's not in my lane...but it feels different now, and I suspect some would have liked that option in light of the AIP..I could be wrong.

TIL we have widebodies enough to fill one new hire class. Are the 777s coming back?

All those new hires are giddy now, but they’ll be less giddy when they see the waves of people bidding over on top of them for years on end as seat locks expire. And I’ll be one of them.

Good for them for getting WB, but they’ll be bottom feeders for a loooong time.

I’ve heard even if you are relatively junior, in base reserve widebody can be good.

You won’t be reserve. Reserve goes senior on WB typically. You’ll likely be forced into a line.

Trips are good for everyone. You just can’t get the days off you want in most caress.

Who cares? WB flying is like pizza and sex, even when it’s not good, I’m happy to have it.

Pre-Covid, I was on NYC 765 B, and was the plug for my first 6 months. I never had a line, not one month. 1 (maybe outdated) data point.

Having said that, reserve does tend to go more senior in the winter months. More than NB for sure.

Data point I used was November ATL 330B/350B. Both plugs had lines I believe when I looked last month.

But you’re right in that the time of year matters.
