Does the A330 do Europe only out of JFK?

If you are asking about pilot base rotations... no. SEA does AMS/CDG/LHR consistently, (FCO/BCN/FRA for FO's occasionally). I believe DTW does FRA/MUC/AMS/CDG. ATL does pretty much all of Europe AMS/CDG/BCN/ATH/FRA/TLV etc.

If you are asking about where they depart from... BOS/ATL/DTW/MSP/SLC/LAX/SEA/PDX

Pretty much...it also does Tel Aviv and Sal Paulo. I've been on in for about 9 months and I've done layovers in Amsterdam, Dublin, Paris, Rome, Athens, Barcelona, Tel Aviv, Frankfurt and Sal Paulo. It's been a fun fleet.

You mean like the 27:16 4 day I just did? And that was WITH a 24h MEX layover.

So one person says it will suck and then someone chimes in that its great. There seems to be some differing opinions on the benefits of being junior in a WB fleet. I saw a lot of 765 and even some 330's in the drops a couple of classes back. I think there was even a 350 that went to a new hire. Supposedly reserve at DL is pretty decent (guess I'll find out soon enough), but what will life be like for these people who have bid the WB categories right out of class? It seems like if you can handle being on reserve and staying in the plug area while folks bid in in front of you, the quality of the trips and time off might be better than the NB fleets no?

After decades of flying equivalent schedules and city pairings as Delta's NB fleet it seems to me that I'd want to pursue the WB in the bid if I could get one? Anyone care to share what the makeup of these trips generally look like?

Good for them for getting WB, but they’ll be bottom feeders for a loooong time.
What kind of trips can a new hire into a WB fleet expect, besides being junior for a long time? Asking for a friend

Sorry, should have been more specific. There seems to be a wide range of opinions on this subject. One guys says it sucks while other say its OK. Reserve at Delta seems to get reasonable reviews. With that said, if a new hire can get, and picks a WB category on the initial bid, what kind of trip construction do they typically have?

Don't listen to all the naysayers. Junior reserve on a widebody is a pretty sweet gig. And a lot of time a junior pilot can hold a line. I'm NYC330b for context. I'm sitting about 90% and I can usually hold at least 2 weekends off a month if not more. The trips are mainly 3 and 6 days. The 6 day trips usually have a Boston or an Atlanta overnight in the middle. In the last 9 months I've had layovers in Athens, Amsterdam, Barcelona, Dublin, Frankfurt, Paris, Tel Aviv, Rome and Sal Paulo. In the last 8 weeks I've done recurrent training, one 3 day trip and a short call. It's been a great quality of life.

I’ll echo that junior pilots can regularly hold lines. I’m in the NYC 765 category for reference. On the 765 expect mostly LHR on a line award. The more diverse Europe destinations (AMS, ATH, MXP, DUB, CDG, ZHR, MAD, BCN, VCE, NCE…) are generally available in open time to swap into after bids post. I think if the AIP becomes a contract reserve will go senior.
