Question about the new hire class drops. Are there the same number of aircraft/base assignments as there are indoc students? (For example, would an indoc class of 30 people only have 30 choices to choose from?) Or could there be more assignments than people in the class? TIA

But if you have to use a negative connotation, then maybe you should thank your fellow LCA "James Bond"/"Bender" who is giving you guys all a bad rep every time he types on the internet. If I was in charge of that department I wouldn't want someone like him grading pilots nor representing flight standards. I'd have already asked him to step down for his serious displays of poor judgment.
But since they haven't, I guess they condone his behavior, which speaks volumes about the leadership and the department.

the current projected LAX350B plug was hired early 2016 and has over 7,000 pilots junior to them company wide. With that said if the category expands significantly like some have said will that should change.
There have been unfilled ATL350B and DTW350B positions on recent AEs, although not many. This likely has more to do with a significant amount of pilots in the bottom 5,000 or so who currently have a seat lock and are unable to bid those positions.

LAX 350 should have a decent bit of more openings coming with Auckland and some Europe starting. But it will still remain senior I imagine. But it will come down in seniority, not sure by how much. according to the icrew senior bids ahead to me on it, it’s very under bid. But heavily the most senior widebody in the airline, so I almost don’t trust it

We only have a seat lock when training is required. The new contract tweaked it a little, but basically it's tied to the type up course. Normal Initial course is 2 year lock ("category freeze"). Differences training is 9 months (767-300 to/from 767-400, or 330 to 350 - only for F/O to F/O or Captain to Captain). All others (e.g. F/O to Captain in the same equipment) is 12 months. Most changes are going to be a 2-year seat lock.
Mandatory displacements carry no seat lock. First Captain upgrade can break a seat lock, but the balance of any "old" lock is added to the "new" lock.
Also, new hires have a 2-year seat lock, but they can bid to new equipment after 1 year to a new base if they can't hold their current equipment in that base.
Keep in mind, these times are when it can be awarded. Training and converting can be as long as 150-330 days later, depending on the type of bid.

No. Delta doesn’t do it like others. You will get a list of possible assignments. The company can assign as many or as few of each that they want (subject to the slots being left over from a previous AE). It’s usually based on training capacity.

That's all you could come up with? At no point did I express hatred, just cynicism. Don't put your self loathing off on me.

And I’m not even going to wade into your back and forth with JB.
