I've seen this mentioned a few times, is it common that the company awards a new category while a pilot is under a seat lock?? It seems like it would be really rare but I have no idea. Just curious, thanks.

Yes rare, but it has happened. The last time that I know of was a few years ago with the 7ER I believe. It's just one of those you can win if you don't play kind of things.

It certainly isn't common but it does happen, especially with a new and growing fleet - i.e., SEA220. Maybe there will be a SLC350 category opening up in a Beehive State near you.

Default Bidding Equipment

Sorry if a repeat question…From a career perspective, what are the limitations on bidding equipment at Delta?

1. Can you change equipment unlimited times?

2. I know initial seat lock (exceptions for upgrade/base) is 2 years but what about after that? If you get to new equipment, are you locked again for 2 years?

Both correct. Caveat. 7ER<->765 is 9 months going either direction. Also switching between 350/330/765 is a 3 year lock until next March (part of the new contract).

Who said that, and did they indicate why?
