As someone with an 86 I think the process is one of the finest in the industry.

Relative to many that’s actually a very diverse drop. Unless, of course, you were hoping for WB B right off the bat?

Agreed. I remember my class drop of NYC mad dog, ATL mad dog, NYC angry puppy….. and for a lucky few, the rarified air of NYC 737.

I get it, I’m old

Better is a subjective judgement. It is randomized to not discriminate. Several people with the exact same higher date have to be added to list in a way that is fair. Class drops are not even a consideration. I'm surprised they don't just assign everyone NYC and the airplane they need most. Choices are really a luxury. The company is always short in NYC because people bid out ASAP. When I was hired I had a choice of M88 in 3 bases. I thouht that was generous that 4 of us didn't have to do NYC. I don't know what you think is better but look at it from the perspective of the employer offering a job.

The way things are today, I'm surprised some young hire at AA hasn't sued them for age discrimination. There's always going to be someone who perceives a method of doing something as screwing them...SSN is probably the most bulletproof from claims of discrimination.

age discrimination laws don’t protect young people, only people over 40.

because of that I have a hard time believing the story we have been told about why we use last 4 SSN.
