I may be wrong but I was told by a captain that had a friend in the class it was all 220 NYC/SLC/SEA

I believe there was only a class on October 8th and that was the last one for the year.

Any speculation if this means the first drops of the new year will look more diverse than this due to multiple AEs without new hire classes?

No doubt they will (once again) be more diverse. A NH drop with only one aircraft type is extremely rare (I don't ever recall seeing one, especially with only the 220).

We will have to see how the next few AEs go. I would speculate you will see some 717/737 for sure come January!

FWIW, the last few AEs have been loaded with B717 and A220 B (FO) slots. There were zero openings for Bs on the Boeing narrowbody (73N) and hybrid 7ER (757/767). Only a handful of A320 B openings.
That being said, was a bit surprised they didn't throw in some 717 positions in the October drop....they always seem to need more staffing there. And it wasn't too long ago that the A220 B was considered a cush starting spot, as it was well-staffed and folks were getting sweet schedules. The people that I know that fly it speak quite highly of how intuitive the airplane is. Guess some of the FOs there are starting to transition to other equipment.

With BOS opening as an A330 base, there were a large # of A & B openings there on the recent AE, which should create some movement in the various narrowbody fleets. There are just so many BOS commuters, folks will be drawn to the base from all different fleets.
