Der...I'm not trying to change your mind, but ....by using your logic....I made triple the pay that Ed Bastion made in 2020. He made $230,000 in pay. Of course, he made another 12 million in "other" compensation so there is that. So....using your logic...did he make 12 Million or 230K? BYy my reckoning he made 12M. PS is at risk "compensation"....analogous to performance bonuses in sports or investing and many other professions.

Totally agree in negotiations to try to use your line of thinking. Of course there us the possibility that the union negotiator loses some credibility with management if they try to push that as a black and white gambit....the truth is somewhere in the middle

We have 2 types of compensation, fixed and variable. This is a good thing. The fixed compensation compensates you for your time at work. The variable compensation compensates you for your investment in DAL, either through the bankruptcy assistance or your being locked into the company for your entire career. The models are different and used in conjunction in every industry. The variable compensation usually is only applied to principles and revenue generators, so to do away with it now is foolish. We have something most "workers" don't.

Pay rates are roughly aligned across the majors. We have better PS than the rest. Our pay is similar with the potential of being much better than industry standard. This is a perfect arrangement. Pay rates will always symmetrize our PS is unique.

Assessment

Hey guys. I just got the email to do the assessment. Super excited! My question…. Is there a math portion on the assessment? Thanks in advance

No math. See posts and re-posts in this thread for assessment details.

Congrats on moving forward in the process! I scrolled up a bit on this page and saw some guys laying out what was on the assessment. Looks like no math section. The hardest section appears to be essentially Sudoku but with shapes where you have to select the missing shape from a row of boxes.

Would you mind sharing your hiring stats? Good luck on the assessment and hopefully interview!

Congrats on the invite.

Go read post #91 in this thread…it spells out what is in the online assessment.

Good luck!

There isn’t a specific section dedicated to math. However when you do the multi tasking portion one part of the game (I guess you could say) is doing mental math amongst other things. It’s basic math, for example, 7-10+15=21. From there you have to see if that’s correct while doing other tasks. There’s a practice version on Cut-E airline assessments.

No dog in the fight since I don't work at DAL, and never will, but most negotiators see 1st year pay and benefits as a company problem, not a pilot/union problem. Why waste negotiating capitol for something that helps the company: getting butts in the seats. Usually, increasing 1st year compensation is an item the company brings to the table, and the union uses to get something they want. IJS.

Has anyone had to re-schedule an interview? If so how does the process work?
