Long sleeve guys have always been weirdos. Enough of this “short sleeves and ties aren’t proper business wear”. We aren’t businessmen.
Short sleeves with ties looks asinine no matter how much or how little "business" you do. |

Most "long sleeve guys" I've met wear them either because of skin cancer concerns/issues or tattoos.

Do you wear long sleeves year round or should I call you Dwight?
I also don't have any skin cancer concerns (yet) or any arm tattoos. I'm just stating what I've seen. That said, short sleeve shirts with ties look stupid and always will. |

Nice ad hominem fallacy but I don't even own a long sleeve uniform shirt.

The only time I've ever had a passenger comment on my uniform is when I was deadheading and she was ****ed about how much space all my Delta required uniform garbage was taking up in her overhead bin. I said sorry ma'am, I wish that none of it was up there but Delta requires us to tote around all these non functional uniform pieces and I'm not carrying them on my lap for the entire flight.
I suggested Delta should provide one simple Northface type jacket that we could easily pack or even sit with comfortably while deadheading. Hat & trench & blazer gone like they should have been decades ago. We could hire some clowns to dress up and walk around the terimal in the traditional pilot garb from last century, for those who just can't live without seeing it. Then the pilots that actually like dressing up like a civil war reenactment soldier can come do that on the weekends for some extra pay, the rest of us can more comfortably work to FAA duty limits and everyone is a little but happier. But that won't happen at Delta because that's not how they've always done it. One more little thing to add the the growing list of reasons for people to go work elsewhere. Working 16 hour days is better if you're comfortable. |

Yes I wear the aforementioned "offending articles" combination, because it is required. But I don't like it and am in favor of getting rid of ties with short sleeve shirts. I don't mind if you argree or disagree, but I'm not getting whatever intellectual issue it is that you have with this. |

Look at all the foreign airline uniforms...long sleeve pilot shirts underneath a suit. Not sure why its so 'faux pas' by some people. Its the standard formal shirt/suit combination since forever in men's fashion. White shirt cuffs are supposed to peek below coat sleeve. In the summer with no blazer, short sleeve makes sense. |
