New ATL training hotel
Stayed at the Sonesta select recently. Just your basic 2-3 star hotel. Food choices are basically bar food, not really any healthy choices for lunch or dinner. Bacon and eggs for breakfast are pretty good, Starbucks in the lobby with reduced hours.
I guess it's a safer place than the holiday inn north but far away from other food choices. You would have to walk up to where the holiday inn is in order to get to a restaurant or spondivits or Malone's. Do not suggest making that walk anytime it is dark, probably not a good idea during daylight either. So if your without a car your choices are extremely limited.
Oh yea, no alchohol of any kind at the Sonesta Select, not even beer or wine. There has to be a better choice somewhere!!
I did walk to training during day and felt comfortable.
Good luck!!

Plenty of good food options about 5-10 min walk east of the hotels. I never once felt uncomfortable and the majority of the people I saw out were Delta employees. Never did venture west beyond Malones though, so no personal opinion on that area.

New ATL training hotel
The new training hotel setup is AWESOME. Way better experience, and as for the property you stayed at (and the one next door), 100% DL employees.
Outside fire pit and kitchens at the place next door, grocery delivery (microwave and fridge in every room at all of our hotels), security outside the property requiring a DL ID to enter…. DL and ALPA hit it out of the park on this one. Everyone I’ve encountered seems happy with the change.
FWIW, there are 5-10 people at the fire pit hanging out and drinking beer most every afternoon/evening, and many of those with late sims would grill/bbq and eat dinner out there with the crowd to relax before a sim.
Super chill, and way better than the old Crown Plaza or Holiday Inn. Easy and safe walk at all hours.

It's crazy, isn't it? I make my crews change into street clothes before getting on the van and we only communicate via tapcode.
