I think you only get paid for the day(s) that falls on your shadow days. You wouldn't get paid for the whole trip. That was my experience. Maybe I misinterpreted what happened but that is what seemed to have happened to me when I tried this.

That's incorrect. Any trip that touches shadow days is dropped with full pay, even if its just one day of the trip that touches the shadow period.

…but not necessarily for full pay. You get the greater of the shadow award or what’s flown, so depending on how much actual OE flying is accomplished the “dropped” (never-awarded) shadow trip isn’t just free money.

So is any trip that falls on a shadow day guaranteed to get dropped? Could they bust up the trip and have you fly part of it?

If you look further down the wide report, you will see any trip that falls in your shadow period has been awarded to someone junior to you. You are not going to have to fly any of the trips.

No.

It hits your schedule for about .69 seconds to establish pay/credit purposes, then it goes right back into the PBS pool and will get assigned to someone junior to you.

Valid. I guess my point was that any trip that touches your shadow period during PBS line construction will be dropped and that sets the floor of your pay for the month.

Also keep in mind, A320 IOE trips are currently running ~48:01 from 44X to IOE.

I would expect that IOE on 320 to be completed almost entirely within your shadow period. I have to give that planner credit, there is some real creativity that I have seen recently.

Crazy the disparity in fleets. I’m 10 days post 44X and still crickets for the 73N. Not even an OBS…

Seeing as I've not flown in 18 plus months, I probably won't be setting any OE time record's.
