We are saving money across the board on labor costs. What he saved offloading VEOPs, he is more than making up for now. We should get a healthy raise, QOL improvements, and retirement increases. Pay scales/per diem tied to inflation. That would make sense.
The companies cost savings on the VEOP were mostly not pilots. Read the companies statement and you will see pilot costs are less a longevity issue and more a contractual benefit. The cost to pay for the VEOP probably exceeds payroll savings for pilots.

I agree. An agreement that doesn’t keep up with inflation will not pass MEMRAT.

Exactly, when we get a new deal within a year of the amendable date a raise of 5-8% is inflation plus a little bump in a “normal” year. Three years late and record inflation move the needle significantly but the ask is along the same lines. We need to get over the sticker shock of our ask and so does the company. At this point we are so invested, I’m willing to wait.

Yep. It's pretty easy to calculate what the inflation has been since our last raise, then see what the new contract has. If it's not higher plus some... it's gonna be a No for me, and I suspect many others.

Is it true that Delta outsources the most international flying of any legacy? Any chance of that changing with the new contract?

AA has activated their stop lost, Hands off our regional pilots. Hiring numbers will no doubt slow down from now on unless we come up with new numbers fast.

I agree, I’m not arguing against it. But I’d bet to get it our QOL asks are going to go down in a blaze of glory. I really wish I was wrong…

We will continue to sell out for pay rates.

Unfortunately no, this management team sees no problem in off shoring jobs as long as they are the ones that decide it.
