Default why is on boarding process...

So awful? Is it meant to be some kind of hazing? I figured Delta would be the most put together, but it might have the least functional/friendly/useable pre and post hire process I've experienced. You have to call a number to schedule an interview, no one answers or it's busy, it's hard to hear the person. You get an email with links that it says might not be activated yet? The phone numbers listed don't seem to take you into any relevant options, then you get disconnected...??? Everyone else just uses email and can reschedule for you the same way or at least answers the phone.

Does this lack of technological sophistication extend to daily operations? It has been kind of shocking and off putting since it's one thing I think airlines can really use to differentiate themselves and capture market share(digital integration and ease of use or at least purchasing). What is the deal?

Honestly, and I've said this before in posts, but yes some of our onboarding processes are ridiculous. My biggest issue is with the scheduling of the interview. It shouldn't take dozens of calls over who knows how many days to set up the biggest event in your career. And yes Delta IT is continually a joke, but at least for this part I don't think it's really an IT issue - it seems like more of just not enough staff in the hiring department to handle this record volume of interviews and hiring. I completely agree that there needs to be a much more straightforward way to handle what's going on. It's both a black eye like you said on the Delta brand, and it adds unnecessary stress to job candidates during what is already naturally a very stressful process.

I can’t remember when they started that project, but I think it was a couple years ago. Then they were on target to roll them out beginning of 2022 and now they should be coming out Q4. Probably of 2025.
