Holy jeez, this is the type of stuff we used to talk about at the McJobs I had in high school. Shaking my head that airlines pilots are worried about write-ups/demerits/files.

Prior FCRs can and will also be used against you at the company's discretion.

So if that's the case, why should I bother to FCR anything ever?

That’s right. Write up SkyHop one too many times, and you’re canned from Delta.

People underestimate how hard it actually is for Flight Ops to fire a pilot who hasn’t done anything egregious. The KP fiasco was an excellent example of what happens when they try to get rid of a pilot who they simply don’t “like” or perceive as having stepped on too many toes. It never works in management’s favor.

That's not what I'm saying. I'm just saying FCRs can and have been used against pilots doing the carpet dance.

Will they get you fired? Not in and of themselves. Will they advance your career? Also no.

Unless a pilot aspires to be in management, our career advancement doesn’t require being on management’s good side.

What career am I advancing in? Is too many FCRs going to keep me from upgrading?

If there are two files it’s happened in the last two years and DALPA would be all over it. The contract governs. Why would they even have a secret file that can’t be used for anything?
You do need to jump on this issue. If you can prove it get a good attorney and you might end up a rich man.
