PIST is, in at least some cases, meant to document what one CP said/did in situation, in case that same CP isn't involved for a future conversation. For example, you call in to ask for 'emergency' PD because your wife was in a bad car accident. It's a way for the CP's to share what was said/done/offered/etc so the 'next guy' isn't in the dark on a future interaction with you. Or, you have a minor medical condition that occasionally necessitates you to do a "Sick/OK", where you occasionally call in well the same day or day after a sick call. Often, a Sick/Ok will get you a GFB, but in your case they know ahead of time not to bother with a GFB every time. That use of PIST is not nefarious. It's basic housekeeping.
I have no idea whether they also use it for a de-facto double secret probation tracking. I have my guess what some of you will think...

Are we seriously discussing a Pilot Information Support Tool Only For Flightops use? And this tool is used for documenting contractually compliant activity that management doesn't like?

Most are due to lack or crews. Mainly because the company can’t cover trips in a reasonable time. Originally Posted by sailingfun

That's the allegation. Without proof, I might add. Originally Posted by Gunfighter

Anecdotal, they put 321's on my commute and it seems they cancel out of the blue about once every other day on already full load factors making the commute intolerable since they started subbing 321's for 757s.Originally Posted by tripled

I just read the Scheduling Alert for QS and it doesn't mention a "Trigger." Did I miss it or is there no trigger? I saw that it has a leveling mechanism but nothing about a trigger.

Yesterday in the crew van 3 crews. 2 of the 6 pilots just going off about QS. None of them had read emails or understood what it was. Or how IAs work vs supposed to work.
The amount of people who work here that are just contractually ignorant or incorrect blows my mind.
And one was a senior SLI, another a LCA.
I explained it. Showed the ALPA comms on Comply, and got told "I don't read that"
Sometimes the company's best tools are pilots ignorance by choice.
