I know pilots whine, but today is next level.
The airline runs 24/7/365.
Everyone knew this when they were hired here.
If you can’t handle working an occasional holiday… for a big fat paycheck and really cushy lifestyle, this job isn’t for you.
You guys are going to medical out with a stroke if we ever have another black swan.
Now we’re going to blame Alpa too?
Hello Red Herring! You are also welcome to the chat! If you don’t know the difference between a Delta defined “Holiday” including days before and after that severely limit what you can do then you are either so senior that it makes no difference to you OR you don’t care. And in either case we have nothing to talk about.. Of course we work 24/7. Did anyone dispute that? Of course we knew it when hired. But to somehow deny that Delta treats holidays including days before and after as just normal scheduling days defies credibility. We have already negotiated that some of those differently treated days are will be paid premium. And kudos for that. But my god man doesn’t it make sense to pay extra for all those days? Or if not then treat them as any other day???

Yes - every day that Delta treats different than any other day. Now you are getting it!

You can make all the pretty graphs you want, but if the underlying data is fudged, you get bad math. So they can "claim" abuse, that didn't mean there was any going on.
When you look at data in a macro sense, like total sick days used on a 365-segmented X-axis, and every blip above a baseline lines up with a holiday or sought after day off, it speaks for itself. I’m no fan of ALPA in most instances, but not sure how ALPA is “fudging” those numbers. It was ALPA-tracked data.

It’s just a fact that a statistically significant number of pilots are “suddenly” sick on every single holiday.

So, since I'm not senior.....maybe try to express yourself with logical thoughts and opinions?
