Used to scoff at this. (I still scoff at the VERY few pilots wearing sun sleeves with short sleeved shirts in the terminal).
The younger generation is probably better than the olds when it comes to sun protection and hydration.

Trump has a weird affinity for pilots (because we're so good looking), so if he has to get directly involved in something I think that could be good for us. And don't forget it was his administration that approved an extremely generous bailout for the airlines during covid (mostly Mnuchin's doing).
However, with tariffs, the mishandling of the economy, and the purposeful devaluation of the dollar, I believe airline profits aren't going to be very strong by the time we're in section 6 which will make it difficult to make major gains. And we all know the company will want concessions like usual. So I'm sure it'll be a long road.

Not to mention Elon Musk who seems to have some kind of undefined but extremely powerful role in the federal government right now.
What do two billionaires hate more than anything? What’s a nagging thorn in their side and a continuous, costly liability on the balance sheet? Labor.
The idea that there exists some “soft spot” for good old boy legacy airline pilots, and that the president would ever come to bat for us in some vague way I think is ridiculous.
we’re way more useful as a punching bag anytime he’d need to fire up his populist base. Imagine this:
“those FedEx pilots want MORE money? These are guys, they’re like bus drivers. Some of them make a million dollars a year. I’ve heard TWO million dollars. And they want MORE money in their new contract? How much do you make? They’re gonna get a deal I’m gonna make sure it’s gonna be a good deal I’ve talked to Fred Smith we’re gonna make it happen”

The idea that the other side is functionally more supportive of airline labor is equally ridiculous. Plenty of groups within our industry worked under expired CBAs for nearly all of Joe’s term. The United FAs went through all of his term with no progress.
