I wouldn't exactly say it's going swimingly though. I saw a Captain rerouted out of a 4-day into a 7-day domestic and we're still seeing lots of people on multiple GS. Even saw a IAWC the other day.

For sure, they're for the people who like having nice stuff a year or two prior lol.

Why would he accept that reroute. It’s not legal contractually. It’s not a fly now grieve later.

I wonder if said captain was on 7 days of reserve... Where's Paul Harvey when you really need him...

Thats possible. In either situation would need a 30 hour layover.

I had a 24 there once on the -ER. It was really pretty, but not worth the price of 72 hours worth of Dakar layovers. At least it will be non-stop on the Panda.

I'm guessing he was in it for the money. I'll give you one guess on the base.

I'll add that a buddy recently had an FO sending messages to crew tracking that he's available to for reroutes. We are our own worst enemies...

Oh completely, unless his last day was a DHD only, endless possibilities in our contract... It would be a huge gain to have 30 hour layover mandatory at home base...

Any language based on global will do this to some degree. Yes there are *some* theater protections so "no theater will go to zero" which is a red herring anyway for everywhere except possibly Australia.
UHL hours to a market with no partner that the company wants us to do (for now) will add a lot of global hours and they will count towards the global balance.

None of us have seen the language, but we do know its heavily focused on global because we've been told it is. That's undeniable.

Great! I’ll truck along, provided D1 is open.

This is the stuff that pi$$es me off.

Either REG pilot doesn’t know the PWA (can only be rerouted into one extra FDP), so shame on him for not knowing, or…

He does know but flew it anyway for the money instead of holding Scheds feet to the fire and making them follow the contract.

And the FO asking for reroutes need to be wall to wall counseled.

Agreed we are our own worst enemy.
