It's common at the regionals, only took a couple minutes for a rep to explain to me why it's important to maintain a structure where vacation is actually time off. There's plenty of little things that sound like warts in our contract when you first get here until you learn the context in which they exist. Similar to how some mil guys in my class had a predisposed negative attitude towards unions before even learning anything about DALPA.

Three new international routes including Tahiti out of LAX. 3 days a week so there will be long layovers! 7ER in LAX just got more interesting.

How about you worry about your schedule and how you want yours and I'll worry about mine.

It was really directed at you but more of an observation of stuff I've seen on here. The issue with selling vacation is that people will actually do it. That impacts the entire pilot group, not just you. Stuff happens, we sometimes get vacation weeks we don't want. I'm all for increasing option to move it, like increased IVDs. But selling it so guys can roll more thunder...screw that.

Amen. Pull the crap week and use convert to IVDs, or do something else with it within the confines of the contract, but working over vacation, more cutting off our noses to spite our faces.
