Oops, I must be recalling old functionality or confusing it with a previous employer. corrected above

Recall that, if you wish to use PB Days to drop a rotation(s) on which there is insufficient
reserve coverage and you do not wish to use your APD or an IVD, you may submit both a PB
Day and a PD request for the same rotation(s). If another pilot subsequently is awarded the
resulting Qualified Personal Drop (QPD) rotation, your PD request will be awarded. You can
then use the SmartSheet on the Crew Resources/Scheduling page in DeltaNet to request that
a PB Day(s) be placed over the dropped rotation(s).
I’m going to re-read these as my wires are crossed. However, I just reviewed my Oct schedule…I had a weekend trip with no coverage…here is what I did;

1)post on icrew “pilot swap board” - drop trip “just put through”
2)trip taken by another pilot
3)filled out Sched worksheet to have PB days applied.
4)PB days received.

If someone can clarify this for me…I believe this is my incompetent way of accomplishing the Sched alert PDrop with PB day request. Doesn’t my listing on the swap board get the Q qualifier just like a PD request? Or did I get an incompetent scheduler and I need to tighten up?

If I’m totally wrong (probably)…please clarify how a PD vs a swap “just put through” differ in requirement(s) and presentation to other pilots looking for trips.

Thanks.

My TOFF moves and payback days have been done overnight. I believe it’s manual process in scheduling.

I think you got lucky however there may have been an update that wasn’t advertised.

It works great. Sometimes it takes up to 48 hours to process as it is a manual process as stated above.

I did the wash-rinse-repeat PB day thing a few weeks ago. I put in the smartsheet each time right after the PCS run was completed and it was always processed before the next PCS run started.

This is exactly what I was wondering about. Only difference is my trip is also in OT as a Q trip. If someone picks it up off the swap board I’ll update whether or not PB day placement was successful. Not looking good for anyone wanting my trip on Mon, though.

So if I have stay the last 4 days of a month off and I greenslip on reserve I back 4 payback days.

Do I still get payback days if I am on reserve the subsequent month or do the payback days go on my first reserve days the next month?

They roll to the next on call day within the month, if none exist they go in the bank.
