Problem is, coverage lately isn't reliably adequate at this point to do the strategy you've mentioned.
Sounds like a good strategy....4 day worth 23hrs is just about 6hrs per PB day, certainly more than the 3:30 vacation credit you'd otherwise receive.

Default PB days for trip dropped via Swap Board

Does anyone know the answer to this…? Have a trip listed as Qualified Open Time with a simultaneous PB day request in. If I post it and it gets picked up via the Swap Board, can I apply PB days to the trip, or does it have to be WS’d by somebody? Sked to whom I spoke was clueless. Thanks all!

I figured a 4-day would be perfect because that's the limit an APD is good for.
1 APD day will drop any trip and allow for more pickup opportunity. Then use the worksheet to communicate how many PBs you want to use. I had a trip that started with 15.5 hour the first 2 days and little value the last 2 days. The PB days start when the trip starts and you can specify how many. (not which days so you can't say 2 days to cover day 1 and day 4) I only used 2 PBs, saving the other 2 for a higher yield opportunity.

Can't use PBs over swap board drops.

Good gouge to reiterate about APD/IVD usage (know its been emphasized on other threads and in the scheduling alerts). Want to save my APD and no more IVDs left. Thanks again.

Hope we dont concede the current RES GS/PB day provisions.

Its in scheduling alerts 19-12, 20-25 and 22-01.

Recall that, if you wish to use PB Days to drop a rotation(s) on which there is insufficient
reserve coverage and you do not wish to use your APD or an IVD, you may submit both a PB
Day and a PD request for the same rotation(s). If another pilot subsequently is awarded the
resulting Qualified Personal Drop (QPD) rotation, your PD request will be awarded. You can
then use the SmartSheet on the Crew Resources/Scheduling page in DeltaNet to request that
a PB Day(s) be placed over the dropped rotation(s).

Done through PCS not Swap board, however the swap board can list your trip as a Q trip for PCS pickups.
To clarify, the only way to get your trip shown as a Q trip in open time is to submit a personal drop request via the iCrew menu. Posting a swap board pickup won't automatically do that for you (though I wish it did).
