Who has the best JS rules isn’t relevant. We need to find a home for clowndown. He isn’t interested in Delta. Who can blame him with his credentials and stuff? He keeps posting here though…
I’m hoping that FedEx buddy comes through and he starts posting over there. When is the last time FedEx had a direct entry Captain that rocked their world? Someone is about to kick down some doors and straighten that place up!

Talk about making commuting untenable.
like chris said sometimes you can have a gate agent move your reservation and keep your time of check in.

but even if not I’d still rather have time of checkin vs our current system. The same logic applies to JS and that seems to work.

This is certain preventable but I have also been under the AA system and didn't care for it.
So you are going to need to bid your trips such that you are on the ground with decent internet 24 hours prior to your commute flight home or on some international trips wake up when you should be sleeping to list?

I've been "that family of 6" that shows up at the last minute. Every time, we were listed days ahead of time on a different flight that ended up looking bad, and we chose a different flight/route to get where we wanted to go. Here's my example from this summer:

Planning on going to Paris from a hub city. Flights were bad, bad a week ahead and didn't get any better, so we planned on going Hub-London-(ZED fare)-Paris. ON THE WAY to the airport, I casually check the direct Paris flight and see its now got 25 open seats. Well shoot - lets do that. So when we pull in the parking lot, we switch to Paris and go check-in. Turns out a DFW-hub flight was 3 hours late for thunderstorms down there and a large group was going to misconnect. We got on and avoids the hassle of going through London.

I’m sure FedEx buddy can do it, but I have this nagging doubt because it hasn’t happened already. As I posted before I think there are some great direct entry captain options for clown to be very senior his whole career. Eastern, Breeze, Northern Pacific and that is only the domestic airlines. If clown is willing to live like a king in a foreign country with many beautiful people that are all attracted to Clown, the we can add many more at least 75 airlines that have launched since 2019.

I can sum this up for you guys:

Junior Pilot - We should have priority based on time of check in, its more fair.
Senior Pilot - We should have priority based on seniority, its more fair.

All pilots: Who the hell is this lady with 5 little kids and a seniority date before I was born?

Pilots will never be the most senior nonrevs, ever based off of age when normally hired (I know it's trending super young, but FA will always be hired younger barring 1-2 outliers) and that we have to retire at 65.

Exactly. No matter how senior you are here, there will always be a more senior family that can come along at the last minute and bump you down the list.

I’ll take the predictability and planning advantages of check-in time priority over the perceived “fairness” of seniority-based priority any day. There are very few people at AA (even the most senior) who would take our nonrev system over theirs.
