It's about 30min from sutdown to crew lounge. Slightly longer than parking in the S lot and walking.

What are you talking about? Nonrev or jumpseat. Because, heck no on AA’s jumpseat policy. Nonrev: seniority with a few S2/holiday/s1 passes sprinkled in. Pretty standard stuff. Why should a new hire bump my family of who cares how many. It’s my benefit. PSC is done, but like many have said, we are getting on anyways so why the angst?

Anyone listed before the cutoff is in straight date of hire, can upgrade to S2
Anyone listed after cutoff is time of listing/checkin.
I've had more than a few instances of Grandma lists her and her 4 grandkids LAST MINUTE.. I'm talking under 2 hours to departure, to go to NYC to "See a show" then me (commuting) or me and my wife (vacation/other travel) are now scrambling to figure out alternates. I've seen at least 3 instances of 'grandma flying with grandkids but they are all S3s', I know there are some grandparents raising their grandkids, but being as I saw them get dropped off with mom in one of the cases I kind of call BS on it.

Anyone with a crj 200 commute is hosed. Those things have always been dicey as far as being able to take a jumpseater but now they are worthless. With the increased pax weights they are constantly limited to less than 50 even on good weather days.

I've always thought a hybrid system would be best.. Priority list freezes 12-24h out.. (somewhere in that range)

I also think commuting pilots should get priority but know that's a lot less popular

Having non-reved under both AA’s system and ours, I have to say that AA wins over Delta. The issue of an entire family of 6 with a 1979 seniority date listing and checking in at the last possible minute, thereby bumping an entire list of non-revs that planned ahead, is very real at Delta. AA’s system allows for much greater predictability and planning when non-reving. Their automatic combined jumpseat/non-rev listing also beats our strict “one or the other” policy.
