Historically the rates don't "magically disappear", the most expensive regionals just get shut down. Start up a new regional or two with lower rates and manufacture a scenario to kill the expensive ones. Many "clueless legacy pilots" have the t-shirt.

You’re right I can’t think of too many that have fully shut down. Top of my head ExpressJet, Compass, Comair, ASA. Many others were merged with cheaper operators, and even more were forced into restructuring.
If I were to predict the future, I would think Delta will prop up Republic by whatever means necessary while avoiding a large pilot payroll increase. Once the supply demand curve flips, Delta will sell off Endeavor to some holding company (is MAIR still around?). Then Delta will award enough of the DCI contracts to Republic to make Endeavor restructure, and repurchase Endeavor at a discount. This will be a repeat cycle until pay drops low enough that no one wants to be a pilot again, and we start over. This “clueless legacy pilot” got to tour with this band from 06-17. ALPA always said there wasn’t a pilot shortage, but a pay shortage. I think they’ve been proven right. |

The value is not even close to a billion in 2019. If the 1.38 billion figure is correct that’s for 2023 not 2020. My personal min was around 1 billion in 2020. If you take the highest current rumor and we got full retro for 2020 we would get about 240 million for that year. With 5% raises in 2021and 2022 the 1 billion I wanted in 2020 becomes about 1.4 billion in the last year of the contract. 1.6 billion if a 5% raise for 2023.
More importantly, stop undermining the NC and your fellow pilots. |

There’s value in having Sailing on these boards. There would also be value if Ed was on here. Both have proven their underlying intent to undermine the NC.

Word on the street is full retro is unlikely and that the mediator sides with the company about exempting 2020.

The point remains, you don’t know the actual numbers so stop acting as if you do.

I am trying to get the best possible contract for my fellow pilots. I bet when a TA is finally announced most posters will be on here trying to undermine it every way possible. It’s going to be a ugly ratification.

They have fun when they sail. 3=7+7+7 ?? Last but not least a guy who completely blanked when he signed up for APC and so he uses two letters OOO and FFF. |
