The key words you mention, 39 more coming quickly. For the first time in 15 years at Delta I see the formation of a reversal. I am, however, cautiously optimistic this will be a total gain after the ER fleet sees its end of days. Our western bases have almost no international to speak of. I am hoping this order changes that.
Delta has never however been a west coast airline. I made a decision to move east in 1998 because of that reality.

I just finished a 16+59 flight. I wouldn't go back to a Boeing yoke laden airplane for anything at this point.

Airbus: Hold my beer!

3-4-3 , We made the cabin 4" wider. Plenty of room for another seat in each row...
(not saying Delta would do this, but I can think of a few airlines that may try...)

Of course they are; the company has said as much. They are aging fleets and are less competitive from an operational/perfomance aspect as well as customer product offering.

If it's an option, Delta didn't buy it - along the lines of brake fans, taxi cameras, ozone scrubbers and the Rust-Oleum underbody treatment. I believe the BoD did approve the Scotchgard treatment though. 😁
