Submit 0.1 hours after your meet all their minimums (required, not desired)....get your app professionally reviewed, then update your Flt hours weekly.

Going to the March 6th event for Pilot recruiting at the GO and lunch with my old boss (PLAD director). I’m trying to get on with Delta as soon as possible. I have some solid connections from working there and living in Atlanta.

What he said 100%. Submit as soon as the published app minimum requirements are met. Pay to have your stuff reviewed and correct any issues. Update your times often. This will provide the best chance to get an interview at the earliest opportunity. When the time comes, get a prep for the interview as well. Money well spent for the value of the career.

Just don’t eat mom’s spaghetti before the interview.

I thought about doing the ATP-CTP there at Delta, I wondered do you also take the written ATP at the end of the course?

I think you can do it then, or at a later date of your choosing. The course pays for the one in ATL when you are done, if you wait you pay the costs.

Is this new? When I did it in 2021 we had to schedule ourselves, and pay. They also didn't offer test prep, which I heard they do now. So, things have obviously had time to change. I went home and took it a couple weeks later on my own schedule.

Nah, I’m going off the info when I helped a friend go through it in 2018. I’ll go back to coloring now.

My friend's son used a book called "The Turbine Pilot's Flight Manual" to prep for the ATP-CTP course at Delta. It had all the ATP-CTP subject matter covered by Delta. He said it was great for interview prep as well.

I got my ATP in 1999 when I transitioned from military, before these ATP-CTP courses were required (8 hours in a Piper Seminole and a checkride, voila!). In 2001 I got furloughed from NWA for several years and never returned, now hoping to make a late career change back to flying. As an alternative to buying $5000 of C-172 flight time, I was considering self-funding one of these ATP-CTP courses to help me get back-in-the-saddle. I assume the recruiters view a LOR from this course about the same as a LOR from a DAL pilot, but in my case it could also help to demonstrate current proficiency in light of my time away from flying? Would it be worth taking the course even though ATP-AMEL is already on my Airman Certificate? Thx!
