Got a big reroute the other night. A few minutes later, a notification bell in m+ had an “inflight release 2” with all kinds of updated info. Way less cumbersome than acars22 and associated paperwork. Point goes to m+

That's really good to hear. I haven't encountered that yet, but with the summer season and the inevitable reroutes for weather coming up that will give us relevant data when the HTML email became useless for a HOWGOZIT.

Thanks for sharing the background. But all they had to do was make an app that displayed text and let you use hyperlinks to move within the document. Also a few basic calculators. None of us were clamoring to take a basic text document and silo it into clunky sub-menus.

Have you guys noticed how it auto fills the nav log if location is enabled and you're flying directly over the point (not abeam)? Do you know if it sends this report to the company? I think it might because it only auto fills if my ipad is connected to the wifi.

What are your opinions on mission plus? I just played around with it and was really disappointed. Took me almost twice as long to read flight plan as it normally does due to opening each section individually. Also dislike the white text.
We really need to invest in better IT talent at Delta cause what we have now ain't it. |
I'm obviously an outlier here - but I am liking M+. For sure there are a few things that need improving, but overall I think it's a solid start. Now that I'm used to where things are, I find it much easier than scrolling through the old flight plan which could sometimes look like a jumbled mass of info (which by the way is still available in "Other Docs" as someone has already pointed out). A couple quick taps gets me to whatever I need. I also really like the color coding on the Wx and Notams, and the green highlighting of the info that is the stuff I usually write down. Better sorting of the Notams is certainly needed. To me the app is not less inuitive than the old flight plan like some are saying, it's just that we've been using the old flight plan for so many years that it is familiar and comfortable. I think most people's initial angst about this will temper once they get more comfortable with it.

The big selling feature of M+ is the developer is "willing to work with us" to improve it. I'd much rather have an off the shelf product that's done right instead of fumbling around with this piece of garbage for years to come. |

Try out the apps that other airlines use. You'll see what all the disappointment is about!

No thanks. Sometimes ignorance is bliss. I’d rather focus on positives than complain and be miserable about something I can’t control. Happy to be going digital and this product is good imo
The point is, we could buy a much better off-the-shelf product. Or, we could create our own like United. Their app is incredible. Or, we could keep HTML and eliminate paper. Any of those three options would be better than M+. I have no faith in their ability to make this app good. Their first attempt and subsequent tweaks prove their development team isn't in touch. They spent how many man hours in implementing location based ATA that is glitchy and drains battery. They could have improved the layout or any number of other requests, instead they added a feature nobody asked for, and did it poorly. |
The fact that day/night functionality wasn’t built into the app from day 1, considering we do fly airplanes in both day and night conditions, screams volumes about the ineptitude of those involved with the app’s design.
