He wasn't "whining" about it but merely noting the absurdity of having to go into iPad settings and doing all sort of trickery to get a simple function that all our other apps (FWV, FD Pro and Aerodocs) have that requires a simple tap.

Mission+ is usable and will improve. Delta has taken pilot input and put it on the road map. However, Mission+ should have rolled out with every feature of html flight plan and more. Here is a quick list of issues:

You can get it into a light mode if you know how.
Edit: I see DryClutch showed you how. And you proceeded to whine about it. Awesome. Were you on the design team by chance? |

Some people saying it will get better... do you really believe that? Look how long it took for them to release the last update which brought a bad crosswind calculator and even worse break calculator and a super clunky notam filter.
The team designing the updates is the same one responsible for making this crappy app in the first place. |

I dislike M+ but have gotten used to it.
I hate to defend M+ rollout but…you don’t have to use it. This is the interim period where the primary piece of info is the paper flight plan. Thanks to all of our complaining, eh suggestions, the product should, eh will, be improved. If they go live with M+ still having these issues, I’d be upset. It’s still hot garbage, but it’s use is not required. |

I'll go with "A".
So what? You have the workaround. It is a one time deal. Do it and you're done. Or constantly whine about it. Welcome to corporate America. We all really enjoyed it when you attacked the female pilot on Workplace for "looking sloppy" too. Did anything ever come of that? Did you get her disciplined? Did you get the women's uniform standards put back to Navy Standard? Inquiring minds want to know. |

Things do get better....eventually.
Anyone remember the Surface 2? Or the 3, which was actually worse because you had to carry a separate battery with it? About 1 time in 5 the thing would go into some kind of deep reset boot cycle that would take it 10 times as long to boot. Then it was always a crapshoot if the apps would even open. It was kind of comedic when they finally, finally thew in the towel on that whole program. Oh man those things were crap. Nothing like having it lock up to blue screen of death and go into it's 10 minute reboot, just as your starting an arrival into LAX (and a few other places lol). I'm actually impressed that the company finally acknowledged it was crap and moved on. Someone dude on FB was so in love with the surface that he blocked myself and many others who disagreed with him about it. Basically said we're IOS babies and droid haters...even though I have an android phone. It is fun seeing guys repsond to him and trying to figure out what the fight it about, because his posts are generally pretty polarizing.

FWIW, I personally spoke with KF, the manager of Flt Ops tech, and he said the “sign in mech” was 100% driven by the FAA POI, and they had relented on the “airdrop or passing around”requirement. Each pilot will simply sign their respective app.
That said, why the FAA won’t allow ACARS pins like other airlines have had for 10 years is beyond me. It's pretty crazy how much power the FAA gives to a single individual, and how much company policy can be dictated by whims of the POI. These decisions should not be left to, "some guy doesn't like it," so you can't do it, especially when other airlines are doing it.

Whining or expecting a bare minimum from the tech we use to do our jobs? Your response is exactly how I imagine our feedback is received by the M+ team. Silly pilots just don’t understand. Stop whining and row. Instead they expend effort shutting down organic, FREE innovation from within their own ranks 🤦♂️ We shouldn't be surprised, they stiff-armed John Bells flight plan stuff for a long time.

I'd rather that happen, than have the engineers standing around a room backslapping each other on a "fine" piece of work that gets rolled out a steaming pile o crap and made mandatory. |
