The Deadzoners got to fly an extra 5 years

*Assuming I made up the 3.6 million, annuitized value, of the stolen deferred compensation I worked 5 years for free. Yay!

I was stuck at the regionals too long and I blame the Deadzoners.

*We didn’t get a vote on that. Scope sucked for us too.

The pension was frozen, not stolen.

*Only true for a few North West guys. For everyone else, it was turned over to the PBGC. 12 cents on the dollar for me so there’s that.

You’ve had multiple contracts to fix it.

*Working for ALPA for most of the past 38 years, you have no idea of the corruption in place since the bankruptcy.

Just shut up and die you old fart.

*We’re all going there my friend.

I sincerely hope that after a few decades, some unforeseen event doesn’t take place to wipe out the 401k you think you’re saving only to be told by the next generation that you should have planned better. Now go die please.
The lack of SA here.

Nobody else has the balls to say it, but, many boomers have an insatiable greed that makes them the most miserable bunch of multi-millionaires the world has ever known.

Who got it the worst can be demonstrated mathematically - pretty easily. The strange thing is, the GenX'ers are so used to "two jobs, something's on fire, the kid's sick and my mom just fell down the stairs" that being a junior captain on a narrowbody at age 55 seems like something to be thankful for.

Who are you, and how did you just describe my life so precisely.

Does anyone remember how many weeks it took to receive the retro check in 2016?

...yay 4.2 compounded raises.

Less than 4 when you factor in the lost DC for 3 years.

C15 passed on 12/1/16 and we got retro checks on 12/16 so I expect the same time frame this time as well.

To me, this was one of the biggest disappointments in C2019. In the context of 40-year high inflation and a bunch of new trinkets in the contract about which we are unsure of the effects, a 4-year contract seems very beneficial to management, and detrimental towards labor.

Don't get me wrong, there are a lot of much needed contract improvements in C2019, but this item was unexpected to say the least.

Ha! So true!
Wife still works, not because she wants to but because a pilots job is as stable as an Antarctic ice shelf. Still have fist house we bought, because we can afford it on one paycheck. Kids still in public school, because most education comes not from the teachers but the diverse mix of socioeconomic families in the district. Still drive my hand-me-down car, because it cost less then a new one. My goal in life is not to be the richest person in the neighborhood, but to be the most content, single marriage, engaged father whos kids (I pray) never grow to dislike, discount and dismiss.
But that’s just me, I have seen too many of my parents peers make such terrible decisions that just destroyed their families for the sake of money, and none of them were ever happy. And after the divorce lawyers got their take they didn’t have the money either!
