As far as ditching the Styrofoam cups, I welcome this. Ignoring the cost, complexity and utter stupidity of stocking separate cups and lids for "crew use", Styrofoam is a scourge. I haven't willingly used a Styrofoam cup in years, even going so far as to not order drinks from places that I know use Styrofoam (I'm looking at you Whataburger). This move just makes it that much easier.
OK captain planet. The largest polluters in the world are in order 1)Chy-nah, 2) India and 3) Indonesia. They don't give too hoots about styrofoam or anything thing else for that matter and NOTHING you do in your routine is going to change that. They flush their trash into the oceans at an epic amount and pace.

Styrofoam is cheaper and easier to produce than its substitutes and doesn't have 7th order effects like your steel sippy cup you dangle on your bag to virtue signal what a great person you are and how environmentally conscious you can be.

Tell you what, when you can get the bums and drugged out zombies in SFO, LA, PDX SEA, DEN, DTW, CLE, NYC, BWI, HOU etc from crapping in the streets, subways and vomiting in the elevators stores and restaurants I'll grant you the reward of forgoing styrofoam cups.

Maybe if you ingest it. But never mind that plastic bowl your Chipotle comes in, or the chemicals in you clothing. Not to mention pack air. And lets not forget the mRNA vax too.

It’s because the magic box spitting fear porn at them every night told them it’s bad. It’s very simple actually.

If only we could get back to the golden age. Am I right true believers?

Every little bit helps.
Well, might as well start pouring raw sewage into the ocean because it's not as bad as Nord Stream.

None of these cups used in the cockpit end up on the beach, guaranteed.

And seriously though, thank you for taking your time to help clean up. That is very noble and beneficial. If only every self-proclaimed environmentalist put their time and money where their mouth is like you instead of idiotic virtue signaling about the environment, most of which is complete BS. But actually taking the time to go clean up a beach or other area does indeed make a real difference. Props!

I liked the size of the pilot (I mean, crew) cups. They were the perfect size for my morning drink. Just enough to get me to the 2 hour mark for a break. They wanna get rid of styrofoam, sure, I'll do my part. But those "shot glass" sized ones aren't just "slightly smaller" - they are like half the size.

I'll just get some from the crew room when I start my rotation, one for each day. Problem solved!

even if they don’t end up on a beach, they end up in landfills or elsewhere.

Styrofoam off gases styrene and benzene into your warm food or beverage, both of which are known carcinogen

I’m very sad about this. Styrofoam cups are essential for ice cubes not melting.

And for everyone that keeps saying they are carcinogens, I hate to say it, but life is a carcinogen.
