The Tumi 22” International 2-wheel is discontinued, but they are still available at Tumi Outlet stores at a discount. I was tipped to this by someone in the MIA Tumi store. I stopped a couple weeks ago at the Pleasant Prairie Tumi Outlet and asked. They had two black ones in the back room and I snagged one 40% off. He did say they don’t get them in every month and the discount changes each week, but is 10, 20 or 40%.

Yes, it does.
I have a much older model of this and it has been flawless. Had to get it repaired just once, no cost.
I also recently bought a LW and while the indestructibility of it is without question, it is heavy, and after 6 months with it I think I might sell it off to someone and pick up another B&R.

bump for a backpack recommendation. Anyone have anything they truly like? I've tried the contrail bags in the past as well as brightline and didnt like them. I need to fit my DC Pro-X, sony xm4, personal ipad, company ipad, charger/cables, and some extra equipment in the bag. Love backpacks for the space, the only downside is the straps when connected to the j-hook/strap attachment and dragging. Would like one that has a strap that could also be hung over the suitcase handle, but thats a nice to have not a must have. One of the issues I've noticed with backpacks is the bottom dragging and eventually getting a hole. This was what i just had that i thought was going to be perfect, but a zipper broke off after 6 months:

Any ideas that you all are happy with?

Nomatic 20L Backpack
It's a bit pricey, but it is very well made and has a well thought out design. All the main compartments zipper down and fold open for very easy access. It has a zipper expansion that add 10L of storage (this is how I normally use it). To your issue with the straps - this backpack has a cover on the back where you can tuck the straps away so they don't drag on the ground. The bag has a nice flat, rectangular bottom so it sits upright nicely when free standing or when hooked to my suitcase standing upright when I'm not walking. Also, most backpacks, when they are hooked to your suitcase J-hook, make it nearly impossible to access your laptop/tablet compartment since the hook on the backpack is in front of the laptop compartment, so you have to take the bag off the hook if you want to quickly pull out your tablet. This bag has the hook at the very back of the bag behind all the compartments, so if I say want to sit down at a gate waiting for a flight I can just set my suitcase where I want it and grab out the ipad without having to take everything apart and put it back together before I leave.

I think of you use the words “convertible backpack” it’ll help narrow the search tithe strap features.
Skip to about 3:15 to see these features, they make/made it in black.
