I have the Chukka. love them, no issues getting through the mags with them on so far.

Thanks. It looks like I'm shoe shopping tonight.

I had my uniform fitting today. I went in dead sure I was going to get the double breasted...after trying them both on I ended up getting the single. Just a much cleaner, more modern look. I like the iconic look of the double, but the single looks sharp. Anyway, guess I'll just have to figure out what to say when someone asks if I fly for Skywest.

did the uniform fitting.

I'm honestly impressed with the jacket. It's comfortable, borderline stylish. The double-breasted fits like a single and frankly, looks like a single too.

Not too impressed with the pants TBH. Felt like a glorified set of Abbot pants. I did wear the Lululemon ABC's to the fitting and you cannot tell with the jacket, so that will not be a concern.

And I got free socks.

ABC classic right? The one with the back pockets on the inside?

Tags say 69% wool / 29% Cordura / 2% Spandex or something. Neither pants or jacket are machine washable…but I bet you could get away with the pants on gentle, cold, with woolite detergent and air dry. The fabric actually feels pretty nice, I just can’t understand why we needed a new style of double breasted….it’s 99% the same just has two ghost buttons now.

The button change is for efficiency on quick turns with a plane swap. 16000+ pilots saving precious seconds over 3 plane swaps per day should provide enough time to squeeze a 5th leg into every 717 pilot’s duty period. Extensions only required 69% of the time.

Probably because some muck-a-muck-executive wanted to put a feather in his cap and leave his mark on Delta. Change for the sake of change.
