GS Assignment Priority
#1
Hypothetical situation: 5 GS pairings to be assignned, lets say later in the month. 5 total in-base pilots theoretically available with appropriate slip requests on file; when awarded, I'm senior in the group and have already had GS #1 while the other 4 pilots have zero GS for the month. If I specify pairing 1xyz as my top preference, does my seniority carry any weight at all in heiarchy of assignment, or am I destined to receive the pairing nobody else wants, assuming they have some ranked preferences on file?
TIA

If you have a sick call for a rotation that, if actually flown, would have caused an FAR conflict, looking forward or backward, those go to the bottom of the hierarchy, in the same format, starting with those who have 0 GS, then 1GS, etc.

If 5 pilots are eligible, legal and available for a rotation, they are awarded in seniority order of those who are in that "leveling bucket". IOW, those with 0 GS are worked in seniority order, then those in the 1 GS bucket, etc.

Awesome, thanks! "Leveling Bucket" is a new term to me, but I like it and I get it. Just trying to decide if it's worth it to preference rank pairings or go generic. But just as with PBS, asking for what you specifically want usually pays dividends, if you have the time and patience to sift through the details.
The only reason I can think of to go granular in icrew is if you’re not going to be available when the call comes in (and are using Auto Accept/Ack)

Just put in a blanket green. If/when they get to that step of coverage you will get an arcos callout with available rotations. You can preference them in order within the arcos app.

Device-free family time on Thanksgiving, but not being a football guy, therafter is fair game for GS action. Excellent point, nonetheless.

Bid a 5 day on the Friday after, put in for a 2 day GSWC Turkey day. 7 days pay, 2 days work. This has worked for me. Couple times.

man, your premium at DAL is so much better than we have at UAL. It’s pure seniority over here. The top 5-10% just suck up any of the limited premium that rarely shows up. (UAL figured out how to greatly reduce the premium available at the end of last Summer).

It was that way at Delta 30 years ago. In the interest of fairness it was changed.

Shouldn’t seniority count for something?
