Im not into humoring adults who live in the land of make believe. Just because someone adamantly believes something is true and throws a tantrum doesn’t make it so. The ridiculousness will never end and will only get worse by the constant humoring.

Kudos to the agent for not getting sucked in.
I'm sure you're also opposed to people using make believe nicknames and callsigns and other "not their first name" names.

False equivalency.

Not at all. It's exactly the same thing. You were assigned it at birth and wish to be referred to something else. Why do you care if the person's first name is Robert and wishes to go by Bob or Steve or Alice or Psycho? It's not about you.

I’ve never had another pilot melt down and accuse me of committing a human rights violation for forgetting to address them by their callsign.

(Yet.)

No, no it’s not the exact same thing. Totally agree, it’s not about me. It’s about reality and science. Thanks for pointing that out.

This is blatant transphobia and hopefully you never say this while wearing the uniform. (or at all)
If you were to try saying this to a fellow delta pilot, employee, or passenger I trust you understand it would not go over well.

What about "I'm sorry ma'am. I meant no offense" would be getting sucked in? Why would that not be an appropriate response?
What is it about asking to be addressed by the proper gender is ridiculous humoring?

There are certainly mentally unstable people across the spectrum independent of their gender or gender spectrum. However, if you intentionally kept calling your captain first officer in front of the other crew and passengers, there are some people who would get upset. That is a bit different for sure.

Intentionally calling someone by the wrong name or pronoun (including their rank or salutation) even if you've been corrected is the problem. It's disrespectful. Just like you'd probably be upset if you were having a disagreement with someone and they kept calling you ma'am or Miss AMC, you'd have every right to be upset.

Unless you are a human DNA test, the first of its kind, you don't have all the information to make that determination.

The equivalent would be if Alexander the II prefered to be addressed as "Alex", and you deliberately addressed them as Alexander the II. Then, after being politely corrected, you repeatedly continued to address them as Alexander the II. You could easily just respect their wishes and address them as Alex, but you would rather be a dick continue to address them as Alexander the II. That would be dickish AF and they would be in the right to be ****ed off.

I mean if we want to get into reality and science, its the transphobes who are way off in safe space imaginary fantasy land, but we aren't even talking about that here. We are talking about giving someone the most basic common politeness. If a lady prefer's ma'am over miss, or miss over ma'am, it does not matter why. The only thing that matters is that is their preference and it is extremely easy to simply use their preferred honorific.

Imagine if your flying with a new FO who keeps addressing you as SIR constantly. You ask that they stop calling you Sir, and just call you by your first name. The why doesn't matter here, the polite thing for them to do would be to call you Jim/Steve/Bob or whatever.
