If he made an honest mistake, then all that is necessary is a simple "I'm sorry miss/ma'am. I meant no offense." But no, instead the gate agent doubled down and threatened to call airport police. This is an extreme overreaction. This should be in a training video of what NOT to do.
The woman here was calm, soft spoken, and only pointed out that he had misgendered her again, multiple times. When your simple basic request to be acknowledged as a person, is instead greeted with a venemous attitude and threats to call the police, pulling out the phone is not unwarranted. Police threats is an apalling response to asking to be addressed by your gender.

Similarly, most Alexanders who go by Alex will tell the other person that “you can just call me Alex.” If Alexander slips out again by accident, most people do not go full nuclear. It’s very easy to tell when someone is making an honest mistake vs intentionally disrespecting you. Just as it’s also easy to tell when someone is seeking attention for themselves on social media.

Except it was the gate agent here that flipped out and went nuclear. This wasn't the first time they misgendered. There was repeat misgenderings. And even after that, the woman is calm and soft spoken. It was in response to that the gate agent layered on the attutide and threatened to call police. That is an extreme escalation and uncalled for, when simply using the correct gender would have avoided all of this.

He was absolutely within his rights to have the passenger escorted out of restricted access, Delta-controlled property. The passenger was intentionally trying to bait the employee into a harmful situation on social media. We don’t need to carry passengers who exhibit that type of behavior.

When I was a kid, there were two genders and you didn’t get to decide which gender you were. It was that simple.

PROTIP to all of you scared of talking to the public and scared of pronouns:
If you are corrected on pronouns or the gender of a passenger, simply apologize, and switch to the indicated gender.
Thats it. That's all it takes. This is a 100% safe and surefire way to avoid any escalation, viral videos, or accusations.
Do not be like this gate agent and double down, get defensive, and repeatedly use incorrect pronouns on purpose. He took what was a mild faux pas and escalated it to full nuclear. Honestly this should be in a training video for what NOT to do when someone corrects you on their gender/pronouns.
Shame on everyone applauding such awful customer service. Unfortunately, most of whats driving the virility of this video is transphobic people who are just happy that a trans person was forcefully denied their request to be adressed properly and were instead threatened with police escort. Apalling.

There are certainly mentally unstable people across the spectrum independent of their gender or gender spectrum. However, if you intentionally kept calling your captain first officer in front of the other crew and passengers, there are some people who would get upset. That is a bit different for sure.
Intentionally calling someone by the wrong name or pronoun (including their rank or salutation) even if you've been corrected is the problem. It's disrespectful. Just like you'd probably be upset if you were having a disagreement with someone and they kept calling you ma'am or Miss AMC, you'd have every right to be upset.
