I meant to quote and respond to Timbo, oops. As to your post, I was referring to the group that lost a multi million dollar retirement. Don’t know how you can be upset at a group that is only getting back a portion of what they lost. For info only, I was hired in 2007 and wasn’t here for bankruptcy. Of course I love the PS, but would have understood if it never made it to me.

Sure, but not of you, but of your good fortune. Tell the part about being a victim again.
You do realize profit sharing was the only mechanism available to ALPA as a creditor to recover the value of the loss (other than new equity in a bankrupt company) after notes and claims were issued. Those were high risk debt that may have paid off, but were sold for immediate cash value. There’s no magic individual entitlement just because you were here at the time other than what you received in the settlement. The package of combined restitution was agreed to and awarded for the value forfeiture of the PWA. The PWA is a perpetual agreement.

That's what perdiem is for. First year pay is what regional captains make now and anyone on their second year makes 200K. Most of my FOs are 20 somethings and a good number are female. That's just a little patriarchal for me now and they don't need the charity. With year one maybe I pick up a round or the tip. The whole point of raising year 1 pay was so they didn't need charity because of the rookie hazing Delta demanded in pay.

I fly with a lot of new people and enjoy doing it.

Nothing wrong with generosity or traditions but our work environment is changing. Some of the stuff I saw as a new hire would get people canceled and fired, I'm good with moving on. I'd rather drop a $20 in a fireman's boot on thier behalf. If we're busy and I am making a lunch or coffe run, I'll offer. Usually we both agree to just grab our own stuff and get to the jet ASAP. The schedule, weather and plane changes are what they are.

While I absolutely appreciate the occasional drink on your behalf, my family makes well into the 1%. I really don't need to be bought a meal unless it's some kind of special occasion. But you must me let me buy you something the next day. And please don't make it awkward when I try to politely refuse.

For those who misssed the 2024 guidance. Here it is. Healthy and consistent with conservative growth.
